A tale of ambition, family, love, and war set in the midst of the Japanese Civil Wars of the sixteenth century. A delirious narrative about two villagers whose pursuit of fame and fortune leads them far astray from their loyal wives. Moving between the terrestrial and the otherworldly, revealing essential truths about the ravages of war, the plight of women, and the pride of men.

Please note that this film will be screened in its original Japanese language from a 16mm print found in the Nyback Archive; the English subtitles may be difficult to read for some viewers during certain scenes.
