A Blackbox Story: The Birth of Contemporary Art Horror

Monday, June 15 @ 6:30 PM 8:30 PM

Doors @ 6:00 PM

$14

A Black Box Story is a psychological thriller short film in the new genre of contemporary art horror that explores the thin, often violent line between artistic dedication and total madness.

The story follows Valen (Joachim Moore), a
displaced and traumatized man who lives secretly within the rafters of a black-box theater. Having fled a dark past involving the death of his parents, Valen considers the stage a sacred sanctuary. His peace is interrupted by Mark (Checko Valenti), an aspiring but mediocre actor who rents the space to rehearse Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night.

This event will include a 30 minute lecture before the film, and a post-screening Q&A with Joachim Moore.
