ANITA: DANCES OF VICE (1987) (Church of Film)

Wednesday, June 24 @ 7:00 PM 9:00 PM

$10

It’s Berlin in the 1980s, and the elderly Frau Krutowski has lost her mind. She believes she is the scandalous Antia Berber, the notorious dancer, cocaine addict, and icon of Weimar Germany decadence. In an insane asylum, she hallucinates her past as Berber, up until her final days. A gloriously queer, beautifully stylized ode to Expressionism, ANITA: DANCES OF VICE is perhaps legendary artist and activist Rosa von Praunheim’s greatest film, a delirious trip of madness and moral abandon.
