A Japanese horror fairy tale unlike any you’ve ever seen and a visual feast, hiding a truly devastating edge. A young sculptor is spared the wrath of a murderous snow spirit under the condition he reveal her to no one, but he faces unknowable temptation when a mysterious woman arrives at his door needing shelter.

Combining incredible production design and powerful tragedy, Tokuzō Tanaka—best known for his work on the Zatoichi series and as assistant director to Akira Kurosawa on Rashomon—deserves wider acclaim for creating one of the most beautiful Yuki Onna stories ever filmed.
