APOCALYPSE CONFIDENTIAL is proud to present a double feature of Portland sin and sleaze, as well as live readings of encounters with the peculiar and paranormal. Join us for an afternoon of low lives and high strangeness!
“Portland Expose” is a Poverty Row film noir from 1957, based on a LIFE magazine article about Senate hearings on organized crime and labor corruption in the City of Roses. Banned at the time from screening within a 30-mile radius of Portland, it’s a schlocky, sinsational story of pushers, pimps, and pinball hustlers!
“Unhinged” is a 1982 slasher flick made by locals and filmed after hours at the Pittock Mansion–with Gus Van Sant serving as a location stout. Deemed a video nasty by UK censors, it’s an exemplary work of scuzzy, sleazy sinema, made the Weird Portland way.
