Sir Richard Bishop + Descending Pharaohs

Sir Richard Bishop is an American composer, guitarist and singer best known as a founding member of experimental rock Sun City Girls, who during their 26 years (1981–2007), produced an extensive discography of over 50 full length albums. He has toured with Will Oldham, Animal Collective, Bill Callahan, and many others, and released several albums on Drag City along with his other band, Rangda. On a slightly different note, Bishop is also an antiquarian bookseller specializing in works on the occult.

Descending Pharaohs are an ethno-psych project, vibing fight scenes of near-eastern films and guided by Arabic/Anatolian electric, spiritual jazz, and heavy psych.
