When ancient parasites that thrive on hatred rise from beneath a small town, taking the most fearful and susceptible as hosts, a young trans filmmaker struggling to transition in increasingly hostile times for LGBTQ+ people, finds herself the only one who can sense the possessed, and rally the resistance! This homage to B-horror Monster Movies was written and directed by Alice Maio Mackay (So Vam).
Feature: Puppet Killer (CA)
While celebrating Christmas break at an isolated cabin in the woods, Jamie and his high school friends are stalked by a sadistic killer obsessed with horror movie icons. Starring Aleks Paunovic (Hawkeye), Lisa Durupt, directed by Lisa Ovies.

Part of the 8th Annual Portland Horror Film Festival™ taking place June 7-11th, screening in-person at the Hollywood Theatre and The Clinton Street Theater. With over 60 short and feature films from over 15 countries, including films by women, BIPOC, and queer directors, this is a diverse and inclusive lineup of the best independent horror films.
