The feature debut from Masaaki Yuasa (Devilman Crybaby), based on Robin Nishi’s manga of the same name, uses a series of disparate visual styles to tell one continuous story about Nishi, a 20-year-old NEET from Osaka, who meets God after a fatal encounter.
Praised by directors like Satoshi Kon (Perfect Blue) and Bill Plympton (The Tune), and featuring music production by ShinichirÅ Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop), Yuasa won numerous international awards for his first work and launched his successful career in film and television.
Screened in Japanese with English subtitles.
