Emerging from anarchist and Trotskyite groups in Paris’s May ’68 uprising, the Homosexual Front for Revolutionary Action (FHAR) and the Women’s Liberation Movement (MLF) formulated a radical and provocative approach to challenging bourgeois gender oppression. They also made a lot of kickass films—a treasure of experimental shorts, documentaries, and essay work by the artists who founded these groups! FHAR/MLF explores the work of Lionel Soukaz, Carole Roussopoulos, and work featuring trans icons like FHAR founding member Marie France.
