Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Immediately following Hunter Thompson’s death in 2005, a near spontaneous and unhinged wake was staged at the Clinton St. Theater. Whiskey and beer flowed, the audience screeched, and the host almost fell off the stage. Films were shown, words were read and a gonzo spirit was much celebrated. In subsequent years, the focus turned to a birthday celebration for Hunter, featuring documentaries, signature beverages and special guests.

In that spirit, come and celebrate the return of the weird and wild birthday celebration for famed gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson at the CST, as we raise a glass to what would have been his 87th trip around the sun.

Featuring Terry Gilliam’s psychedelic nightmare adaptation, a vintage documentary about Hunter in the 1980s, along with a host of surprises and tributes.
