Special U.S. premiere of a brand new film from Japan!
Part of the Hanabi Film Festival, running select days Aug. 18 – 31. Limited festival passes available for access to all films.
Tamaki Nanjo, a socially awkward young woman, has always found her sanctuary in a small arthouse cinema with a unique lineup that sets it apart from mainstream multiplexes. She also adores Yuiko Heko, the lead vocalist of the rock band Kagerazu, whose music has profoundly impacted her life.
Acquiring a second-hand guitar, she hones her skills in the hopes of someday being able to stand on the same stage as her favorite band. But as she pours her energy into creating viral videos, Tamaki learns a devastating truth—the arthouse cinema she treasures is set to close its doors on the same day as Kagerasu’s next live show!
We’re very excited to partner with Japanese film distributor Cinemago to bring this new title to the United States as it’s selling out theaters in Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, and Osaka.
Screened in Japanese with English subtitles.
