Inspired by the French New Wave, impatient with the slow development of Tito’s socialism, suspicious of authorities, Yugoslavia’s young filmmakers explored their frustrations in brilliant experimental work, infusing it with brooding lyricism, anarchist critique, gallows humor, and documents from society’s fringes.

This collection of short experimental work captures Yugoslavian cinema from the birth of the Black Wave in the 60s until Tito’s death and the end of the era. Includes work by icons Dušan Makavejev, Živojin Pavlovic, Želimir Žilnik and many, many more!
