Color and Sound

Escape the grey and fall into a Technicolor fantasy this winter season!

In January, the Clinton Street Theater presents Color and Sound!

Escape the grey and fall into a Technicolor fantasy this winter season! Originating in its rudimentary form around 1916 and perfected in 1932, Technicolor forever changed the course of cinema history with its vivid and bold visuals. Coming in tandem with sound, providing the full-spectrum entertainment that dominated the art form for a full 50-year span before being phased out in the 70s. Apply the 3-dye process straight to your brain while viewing this cross-genre selection of brilliant Technicolor films.

We’re also joining forces with Music Portland, a grassroots trade association and advocacy group for the city’s artists, to screen a curated selection of music movies every Monday in January with $1 from every ticket going towards the organizations grant fund.
