Mark So, Robert Blatt, and Mike Richard bring a night of experimental sounds and visuals to The Clinton Street Theater.
Mark So is a composer of performance scores and tapes to experimental texts. He has collaborated on diverse projects with a range of artists, musicians, filmmakers and writers. In 2016, Marfa Book Co. released “a box of wind” — a collection of over 300 scores from his Ashbery series.
Robert Blatt is a composer, artist, performer, and writer. He holds a master degree in composition from the Royal Conservatoire The Hague and a bachelor degree in guitar performance from the University of Washington. Recordings of his music include a forthcoming album on Andromache Records and releases by Audition Records, iii Editions, Zeromoon, and others. In addition, his book-length collection of text scores, Beach Bums, is published by Much Too Much Noise.
Mike Richard’s scores are presented not as files or traditional paper scores, but as philosophical prose texts on screen. Performing on piano, keyboard, synth, gong and vocals, his current project as Demian Rufus is a dark, homoerotik musical sequel to Herman Hesse’s 1919 novel.
