Public Domain Xinema presents...THE SNOWS OF KILIMANJARO

Next time at Public Domain Xinema at the Clinton Street Theater, we enjoy 3 hollywood titans burning up the screen! Gregory Peck, Ava Gardner and the great Susan Hayward bring Ernest Hemingway's classic story to the big screen, replete with some of the most grandiose sets, art direction and cinematography in cinema history! Henry King directs the story which is, like many of Hemingway's tales, a thinly guised version of the legendary writer himself. An adventurer waiting to die at the foot of the famed mountain recounts his his life and loves, and questions whether there's a future. Don't miss a second of this old Hollywood mega-classic, presented with newsreels, cartoons, TV commercials, and other treats from 1952 to really take you back, plus a historical introduction from series curator, Ygal Kaufman.

The magic starts at 7 p.m. and as always, it's a donation based admission. Bring nothin or something, nobody will be turned away for lack of funds. Come join us a for a screen classic enjoyed the old way!
