"Black Coffee: A Dialogue On Race & Coffee Culture" is a live podcast event highlighting the conversation about the intersection of race and coffee culture. Imagine The Breakfast Club meets The Read, (two popular podcasts/radio shows about Black pop culture).

Hosted by Michelle Johnson (The Chocolate Barista, Barista Hustle / Melbourne),  Deadstock Coffee's Ian Williams, and Gio Fillari of Coffee Feed PDX. Featured guests are Dee Stubblefield (Counter Culture Coffee, Philadelphia), Cameron Heath (Revelator Coffee in Birmingham), Miles (Ikawa in LA), Zael Ogwaro (Never Coffee PDX), and Adam JacksonBey (The Potter's House DC and the first Black BGA Executive Council Member).

Ultimately, it will be a candid but guided conversation about the experiences of Black folks in the coffee industry and as consumers, while celebrating all the unique ways we make coffee our own thing. From the music, to how we interact with customers, to everything else that comes with being involved in coffee.

But Black.

All proceeds will be donated to two Portland non-profits, Brown Girl Rise, an organization dedicated to empowering young girls of color (also read this article about them), and Sankofa Collective, who are dedicated to helping Portland's Black LGBTQAI+ community.

Tickets will be $10 presale, $15 at the door with a special, but limited $50 VIP ticket for the after party and special "come down" event on Wednesday morning.

The event is presented by Sprudge and The Chocolate Barista. Sprudge is a coffee and wine website based here in Portland, Oregon. The Chocolate Barista (http://www.thechocolatebarista.com/blog/) is the popular coffee website based in Melbourne, Australia and run by Michelle Johnson, a US coffee professional.
