When Robby falls into a spiral of negativity\, he must reflect upon himself and realize the importance of living in the moment and focusing on the positives of life. \n\n\n\nInvasion of the FreeBox Monsters by Peter Grey follows a collection of everyday folks fights to survive a new COVID outbreak and garbage eating creatures in order to save the city of Portland and the second annual Avocado Toast Festival from the US Military and the evil General Stone?!

SUMMARY:The Last Waltz
DESCRIPTION:More than just one of the greatest concert films ever made\, The Last Waltz is an at once ecstatic and elegiac summation of a vital era in American rock music. Invited to capture the farewell performance of the legendary group the Band at San Francisco’s Winterland Ballroom on Thanksgiving\, 1976\, Martin Scorsese conceived a new kind of music documentary. \n\n\n\nEnlisting seven camera operators (led by director of photography Michael Chapman\, and also including renowned cinematographers Vilmos Zsigmond and László Kovács) and production designer Boris Leven to design the strikingly theatrical sets\, Scorsese created a grandly immersive experience that brings viewers onstage and inside the music itself. \n\n\n\nThat music—as performed by the Band and a host of other generation-defining artists\, including Bob Dylan\, Joni Mitchell\, Van Morrison\, the Staple Singers\, Muddy Waters\, and Neil Young—lives on as an almost religious expression of the transcendent possibilities of rock and roll. \n\n\n\n \n Director: Martin Scorsese\n Year: 1978\n Country: United States\n Runtime: 117 minutes

SUMMARY:Celluloid Jukebox: Scopitone-a-Go-Go
DESCRIPTION:Scopitones: three-minute peepholes into a world where every day is a pool party\, every girl is scantily clad\, and every man expresses himself with song. One of the last iterations of movie jukeboxes\, Scopitones enjoyed a brief but explosive moment in the sun in the early 60s. Capitalizing on the twist craze\, rock ‘n’ roll\, and the sexual revolution (boobs)\, Scopitones featured a dizzying array of long-forgotten acts and garish Technicolor production. Produced by Debbie Reynolds and distributed by the Mafia to shady night clubs the world over\, they are quintessential camp. \n\n\n\nThis is a rare opportunity to experience a magnetic soundtrack\, which is as hi-fi as film can be. The show is sourced from the Nyback Archive\, and you can see Dennis Nyback himself introduce the Scopitones below.

SUMMARY:Mississippi Masala
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Portland Panorama and benefiting Portland Immigrant Rights Coalition (PIRC). \n\n\n\nThe vibrant cultures of India\, Uganda\, and the American South are blended and simmered into a rich and fragrant fusion feast in Mira Nair’s luminous look at the complexities of love in the modern melting pot. \n\n\n\nYears after her Indian family was forced to flee their home in Uganda by the dictatorship of Idi Amin\, twentysomething Mina (Sarita Choudhury) finds herself helping to run a motel in the faraway land of Mississippi. It’s there that a passionate romance with the charming Black carpet cleaner Demetrius (Denzel Washington) challenges the prejudices of their conservative families and exposes the rifts between the region’s Indian and African American communities. \n\n\n\nTackling thorny issues of racism\, colorism\, culture clash\, and displacement with big-hearted humor and keen insight\, Nair serves up a sweet\, sexy\, and radical celebration of love’s power to break down the barriers between us. \n\n\n\n \n Director: Mira Nair\n Year: 1991\n Country: United States\, United Kingdom\n Runtime: 118 minutes
