SUMMARY:The Choice
DESCRIPTION:Doors open at 6:30 PM \n\n\n\n\nWanna learn more about ranked choice voting but don’t know where to begin? How about at free film screening at an iconic Portland theater? \n\n\n\nYou’re invited to join Next Up for a special screening of “The Choice.” The Portland-made film follows the candidacies of folks who ran for PDX City Council back in 2024\, and shows how ranked choice voting shaped their campaigns. \n\n\n\nAfter the film\, stay for a live panel discussion on ranked choice voting featuring RCV experts\, followed by a Q&A where you can learn more about how ranked choice voting works. \n\n\n\nWhether you are new to ranked choice voting\, or a longtime RCV fan\, this will be a fun event you won’t want to miss!

SUMMARY:SALOME (1972) (Church of Film)
DESCRIPTION:King Herod is in love with his daughter\, Salome. After she fails to seduce John the Baptist\, she dances for the King in order to secure the execution of John. At least\, that seems to be the plot of this bewildering\, sustained psychedelic free-for-all\, a blizzard of gem colored lights\, feathers\, spankings and esoteric rituals. SALOME is the untamed creative work of Carmelo Bene\, the enfant terrible of Italy’s avant-garde counter-culture.

SUMMARY:NIGHT VOICES (1995) Episodes 1 & 2 (Church of Film)
DESCRIPTION:Passes available for all three screening dates! \n\n\n\n\nThe mutilated body of a student is found beneath Rome’s oldest bridge\, the Ponte Sublicio. Detective Morlisi is put on the case\, which at first seems to be connected to organized crime. Soon\, however\, he is drawn deep into a conspiracy that involves ancient rituals and modern cults\, the phantoms of an obscure history\, and the secrets of existence beyond death. NIGHT VOICES is a 5 part miniseries\, considered the lost masterwork of Pupi Avati\, Italy’s master of metaphysical horror.  \n\n\n\nKnown by fans as the Italian Twin Peaks\, it aired in 1995 on Italian public television\, and then disappeared for nearly two decades after. When it returned\, it was heavily censored in a very unusual way. We will be showing the original\, uncut full 5 episodes\, translated and subtitled for the first time ever in English by Church of Film!
