FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Portland, Oregon, April 1, 2014:
Clinton Street Theater announces groundbreaking new schedule.

For the past two years, the historic Clinton Street Theater has brought Portland a compelling brand of eclectic, exciting and innovative programming. As the oldest theater in Cascadia, the Clinton leads the region by screening more truly independent films than any other cinema (and all on a single screen!). The Clinton is also proud of its community driven events focused on feminism, gender politics, racial issues, the arts, the environment, and political activism.

Effective immediately, CST will pair its unique programming with an equally innovative schedule. All movie times will be shifted twelve hours forward, i.e. all PM screenings will move to the AM.  Most standard shows will now have 7 & 9am screenings. Unfortunately we no longer offer a senior discount, because that is most likely the people who will be up at that hour. Attendees at the 3am matinees will receive coupons for Taco Bell.

Our 36-year tradition of screening Rocky Horror Picture Show will not end, but be transformed into a lovely Sunday brunch. Guests will be allowed to toss muffins and bagels during the show, but we absolutely cannot permit smoked fish of any kind in the auditorium. Professional counselors will be on hand to assist any RHPS regulars unaccustomed to the daylight.

“I do what I can to offer something different to the people of Portland,” stated theater owner, Lani Jo Leigh. “The schedule will take a little getting used to, but at least I’ll have my evenings free.”
